Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov held a video meeting on the current situation and the urgent task to be fulfilled in the investment sector of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm Region. This year, it is planned to implement 731 projects worth 2.7 trillion soums in Karakalpakstan and 695 projects worth 4.6 trillion soums in Khorezm Region, the press office of the Ministry reported to CentralAsia.news.
It was noted that 256 investment programmes worth 3.2 trillion soums that created 18,600 new jobs had been implemented in the Republic of Karakalpakstan through the measures undertaken earlier.
This has been done largely by appointing the heads of local authorities in the regions to the districts and cities of Karakalpakstan to cooperate with local producers and provide them with assistance in the implementation of new business initiatives. The task to expand the experience of using the above practice in Khorezm Region was given.
In 2021, 83 investment projects worth US$ 766.2 million, involving foreign investors, were launched in the regions of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm Region through the measures undertaken by the Ministry.
