Tajikistan and Belarus to develop roadmap for cooperation

On January 6, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda held a meeting with Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of Belarus Viktor Denisenko in Dushanbe. The interlocutors discussed further aspects of cooperation in a number of areas, the press office of the Embassy of Belarus reported.

They noted that in January-September 2021, the volume of trade between the two countries reached US$ 30 million. The importance of enhancing contacts in the trade, economic, agricultural, industrial and investment sectors was highlighted. They also discussed the establishment of joint ventures.

The interlocutors focused on the need to develop a medium-term programme document (roadmap), which would give an additional impetus to bilateral partnerships.

The emphasis was also placed on the implementation of Tajikistan-Belarus long-term economic and humanitarian projects.

Dushanbe and Minsk are planning to hold a regular meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation in the first half of the year.
