Rahmon and Putin discuss aspects of bilateral partnerships by phone

On January 3, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with his counterpart from the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The interlocutors discussed aspects of cooperation, which became a continuation of the talks held in St. Petersburg, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.

The interlocutors exchanged the Happy New Year wishes. Putin wished Rahmon all the best.

The telephone conversation focused on promoting bilateral partnerships. It followed the substantial conversation held by the leaders of the countries in the northern capital of the Russian Federation on December 27 last year.

They agreed to enrich Tajikistan-Russia relations with new quality and content.

As was reported, Rahmon arrived in St. Petersburg to participate in the informal CIS Summit, which took place on December 28, 2021. The day before the Summit, he met with Putin. Discussing the results of economic cooperation between the countries, they noted that bilateral trade turnover had exceeded US$ 1 billion.
