On December 22, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin discussed the current sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country during a government meeting, the press office of the Chairman of the Government reported.
Acting Minister of Health Zhandos Burkitbayev reported that the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country remained stable. Occupancy rate in inpatient and intensive care units is 19%. Currently, 15 regions of the Republic are in the green zone. Pavlodar and North Kazakhstan Regions remain in the yellow zone.
The Acting Minister of Health informed that consistent measures were being implemented to achieve herd immunity. To date, 8.4 million citizens, constituting 75% of the adult population, have received the full two-dose course of the vaccine.
Due to the outbreak and spread of a new variant of coronavirus in foreign countries, Askar Mamin once again focused on the strict obligation to comply with sanitary and epidemiological regulations, strengthen border controls and ensure that citizens adhere to personal protective measures on public transport and in public places.
