Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan reviews Osh development project

On December 21, Chairman of the Government of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov reviewed the development project of Osh – the second largest city in the Republic during his working trip to Osh Region. The Prime Minister highlighted the need to calculate exact costs before approving the document, the press office of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

The project aims to ensure efficient transport infrastructure and environmentally sustainable urban development, protection of natural heritage and access to affordable housing.

The project envisages building a horizontal gravity water intake gallery on the Ak-Buura River in the territory of Toloikon village. The construction project will ensure access to safe drinking water for local populations. Japarov emphasised additional funding would be provided, if necessary.

The Prime Minister also reviewed the T-junction road project, which was to solve traffic problems in Osh. The Chairman of the Government noted that the construction project should take into account the growing number of vehicles.
