President of Kazakhstan signs decree on resignation of Minister of Health

On December 20, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev signed the decree on the resignation of Aleksey Tsoi from the post of Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the press office of Akorda reported to CentralAsia.news.

Alexey Tsoi has worked as Minister of Health for a year and a half, since June 2020. Prior to his appointment as a Minister, he headed the Medical Centre at the President’s Office. Commenting on his resignation, the Minister said he was going to develop the health sector through science and social initiatives.

Addressing his colleagues on his Facebook page, the ex-Minister said the leadership of the country had supported his decision to work in the civil sector, noting that his main mission as a Minister was to keep the epidemiological situation stable, increase the effectiveness of domestic medicine and address current global challenges. He said the goals in a number of indicators had been achieved.

On his Facebook page, Press Secretary of the President of Kazakhstan Berik Uali expressed gratitude to Alexei Tsoi on behalf of President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev for his fruitful work, particularly to fight against the pandemic in the country.
