Kyrgyzstan urges to improve connectivity between India and Central Asian countries

On December 19, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbayev participated in the meeting of the India-Central Asia Dialogue in New Delhi that brought together his counterparts from Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and India, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The ministers deliberated on the current situation in Afghanistan. Taking into account the difficult situation in this country, the parties highlighted the need to provide humanitarian assistance to its people.

The parties emphasised that the economic crisis, leading to further impoverishment of the people and a rise in hunger, could be the main enabling factors for criminal groups and terrorists in Afghanistan.

In his speech, Kazakbayev underscored the importance of improving connectivity between India and the Central Asian to expand trade and economic contacts and simplify trade procedures.

Given the significant tourism potential of the Central Asian region, it was proposed to convene a large-scale conference involving government agencies and tour operators from India and the Central Asian countries.
