Foreign Ministers of Tajikistan and India sign programme of cooperation

On December 18, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin paid an official visit to New Delhi to participate in the 3rd meeting of the India-Central Asia Dialogue. He met with his counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reported.

The interlocutors highlighted the importance of implementing the agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries Emomali Rahmon and Ram Nath Kovind. Following the talks, the ministers signed the partnership programme between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2021-2024.

They signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service. The document aims to improve professional skills of employees of foreign policy departments.

Muhriddin had a meeting with Speaker of the lower house of the Parliament of India Om Birla. They emphasised the importance of strengthening contacts in the health sector and increasing the number of academic scholarships.
