On December 16, at the Center of Public Organizations in the capital of Turkmenistan, a conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Democratic Party was held. Within the framework of the event, the results of the work of the association for the corresponding period were summed up. It was reported by «Turkmenistan Today».
At the beginning of the conference, its participants heard the address of the head of state Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. He noted that the Democratic Party plays a significant role in the legislation, the development of ideology, international relations, and the formation of the legal foundations.
According to the president, the party made an important contribution to the transition to a bicameral parliamentary system in the country. Many representatives of the political association became members of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh, he added.
The conference participants noted that Berdimuhamedov’s message inspired them to be more productive in their work. They emphasized that today the state ensures a prosperous life, rights and freedoms of citizens, and «the efforts of the Hero-Arkadag» expand the potential of the country and increase the authority of Turkmenistan in the world.
During the conference, a diploma awarding ceremony of the activists of the Democratic Party was held as well.
