Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan aim to foster contacts with Afghan Cabinet of Ministers

On December 14, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbayev held a telephone conversation with his counterpart from Pakistan Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Hussain Qureshi at the initiative of the Pakistani side. The interlocutors discussed the socio-economic and humanitarian situation in Afghanistan, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The Kyrgyz Minister emphasised that constructive contacts with the Afghan Government should be built to prevent further escalation of the humanitarian crisis and provide financial and humanitarian assistance to citizens of this country.

The Pakistani side noted the role of Muslim countries in providing humanitarian aid and assistance in achieving peace and stability in Afghanistan.

The interlocutors also discussed the current level of Kyrgyzstan-Pakistan relations and expressed readiness to promote cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, security sector and other areas of mutual interest.
