Berdimuhamedov instructs ambassadors to prepare for Caspian Summit

On December 10, on the eve of the New Year holidays, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a traditional extended government meeting with the participation of Turkmen ambassadors and consuls. He gave some of them instructions regarding the Summit of the heads of Caspian littoral states, as reported by «Turkmenistan Today».

The heads of the diplomatic corps of Turkmenistan in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Iran and the Russian Federation were instructed to strengthen cooperation with the cabinets of ministers of these states in the field of preparation for the Caspian Summit.

According to Berdimuhamedov, the event was supposed to take place this year, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic it was postponed. The President said that as soon as circumstances change, Turkmenistan will hold a summit at a high organizational level.

The leader of the country noted that the priority task of the ambassadors is to keep this issue under constant personal control.

The first Summit of the heads of Caspian littoral states was held in Ashgabat on April 23-24, 2002.
