Uzbekistan and UAE expand cooperation

On December 9, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates for a visit to meet with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the press office of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported.

The interlocutors discussed the progress and prospects for promoting bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as at the level of cultural contacts.

Speaking about the successful implementation of a number of joint projects, the participants noted the activities of the Masdar company that had put into operation the first solar power plant in Uzbekistan in August this year and had won the tender for the construction of three more solar power plant in Jizzakh, Samarkand and Sherabad Regions.

The UAE also assists in developing small and medium-sized businesses and implements a number of projects in the education and tourism sectors in Uzbekistan.

An exchange of views on further interaction in the energy, agricultural, finance and healthcare sectors took place during the meeting.
