Putin congratulates Japarov on successful parliamentary elections

The leader of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation Sadyr Japarov and Vladimir Putin held telephone talks. They discussed the parliamentary elections in the Kyrgyz Republic and agreed to strengthen strategic cooperation between the two states, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Japarov said the elections were held in full compliance with the constitution and international norms and thanked his counterpart for the participation of the Russian observers and their high evaluation of the event.

The Kyrgyz leader noted that political stability in the republic would allow building up the potential of interstate cooperation. Putin wished Kyrgyzstan further economic growth.

The elections to the Jogurku Kenesh were held on November 28. After the failure of the CEC website, representatives of 5 political parties accused the authorities of voter fraud. Japarov announced his readiness to leave the post, if the Chairman of the Central Election Commission confirmed the relevant fact.
