President of Uzbekistan receives RF FSS Director

Director of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation Alexander Bortnikov arrived in Uzbekistan for a working visit. On December 1, the RF FSS Director had a meeting with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

Alexander Bortnikov conveyed the greetings and best wishes from Russian President Vladimir Putin to the leader of Uzbekistan.

A lively exchange of views on Uzbekistan-Russia partnerships in such important areas as countering the main threats – international terrorism, cybercrime, illicit drug trafficking, organized crime and human trafficking took place during the meeting.

The interlocutors also discussed the outcomes of the meeting between the leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia, which took place in Moscow on November 19, noting its effectiveness and importance for boosting Uzbekistan-Russia cooperation.

The President and his guest highlighted the need to continue interaction between the competent authorities of the two countries to achieve regional and international security and discussed the current situation in Afghanistan.
