On November 24, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon congratulated citizens of the country on the State Flag Day. He noted that they must protect and respect this national symbol, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.
Encouraging all patriotic and proud members of society to wear a flag badge on their chest, Rahmon emphasised that the flag was a sacred symbol of the independent and sovereign state, a symbol of freedom.
The President said the flag reflected the aspirations and goals of citizens of the Republic in its colours. He stressed that parents should instil a sense of respect, pride, love and devotion to the national symbols in children.
The leader of Tajikistan noted that dozens of large facilities and hundreds and thousands of important industrial and social facilities had been built in Tajikistan for over 30 years of independence.
The Flag Day has been observed in Tajikistan on November 24 in the accordance with the Decree of the President from November 20, 2009.
