On November 19, the grand opening of the new «Erkin» park took place in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. The corresponding area occupies about 16.97 hectares. The event was attended by officials, elders and youth. It was reported by the state news agency «Turkmenistan Today».
The park is located in the north of the city in Bagtyyarlyk district not far from Lachyn square, opened in September. The recreation area is located between Atamurat Niyazov and Amudarya, Hoja Akhmet Yasavi and Berdynazar Hudaynazarov streets. In the center of the park area there is a 22-meter high flagpole.
Over 7000 plants have been planted there. These are junipers, conifers, and various flowers. During the construction of the park, special attention was paid to creating comfortable conditions for cycling.
Thus, there are bicycle paths, a track for cycling lovers around the park, parking spaces for this type of transport. Citizens can also rent bicycles right in the park.
