Tajikistan and Belarus increase trade and economic cooperation

On November 16, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sodik Imomi and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus Viktor Denisenko held a meeting in Bishkek. The interlocutors focused on expanding trade and economic cooperation, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan reported.

Particular attention was given to the importance of boosting economic relations. In this context, the emphasis was put on the need to take measures to unleash the potential of such interaction.

The officials also considered the issues pending discussion at the upcoming meeting of the Tajikistan-Belarusian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic partnerships. Imomi and Denisenko exchanged views on the preparations for the visits of official delegations next year.

The parties agreed to enhance Tajikistan-Belarus interaction within the regional and international organisations, as well as to consider the possibility of strengthening interstate humanitarian contacts.

The representatives of the Ministry of Tajikistan added that the talks had taken place in a friendly atmosphere.
