Nur-Sultan invites Budapest to expand bilateral cooperation

According to the President of Kazakhstan, the countries have a huge potential to fulfil these tasks.

On November 12, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev met with Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban on the sidelines of the Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States in Istanbul. The interlocutors discussed the current stage of multifaceted interstate cooperation, the press office of Akorda reported.

Noting the constructiveness of bilateral relations between the states of Central Asia and Central Europe, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev expressed satisfaction with the intensity of ongoing partnerships at various levels.

The President reminded that the first embassy of Kazakhstan in the central part of Europe opened in Budapest. The leader of Kazakhstan said a huge potential for cooperation existed and called on to encourage diplomatic departments and government teams to search for new joint niches to move forward. Priority was given to new economic projects and interaction within the UN, OSCE and other international organisations.

Viktor Orban focused on the historical factors connecting the Kazakh and Hungarian peoples and invited to visit Hungary next year.

The talks also covered the pandemic, negative environmental impacts, regional interaction and the situation in Afghanistan.
