Prime Minister of Tajikistan proposes to simplify goods supplies within CIS

Kohir Rasulzoda put forward an initiative at the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

On November 12, Chairman of the Government of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda took part in an online meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States. He invited his counterparts to consider the possibility of simplifying the procedures for the supply of goods within the CIS, the Russia 24 TV channel reported.

Rasulzoda noted that the authorities of the CIS states should focus on removing barriers. In this case, the emphasis should be placed on essential goods. He highlighted the need to simplify the regime for the provision of capital and labour services on the territory of the Commonwealth.

The Prime Minister stressed that the world may face a threat to food security in the near future, and the CIS was no exception to the rule. He said supply chain continuity needed to be maintained to prevent such a situation from occurring.

The Chairman of the Government of Tajikistan highly evaluated the dynamics of economic development of Tajikistan, noting that the share of trade with the CIS states was 47% of Tajikistan’s foreign trade in the first 9 months of 2021.
