Tokayev confirms his reliance on green strategy

The leader of Kazakhstan asked the financiers to adopt the “green transition” trend characteristic of global financial centres.

On November 12, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev addressed the participants of the Congress of financiers of the Republic. He stressed that this event was of great importance for the country and updated the areas that needed to develop gradually, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

Focusing on the financial policy priorities, the President highlighted the need to promote and improve the efficiency of the domestic stock market. The Astana international financial platform, designed to become another source of financing for the economy, should be the “right hand” of the market.

Tokayev noted that it was imperative in modern conditions to take into account the challenges associated with the “green transition” of global financial institutions and the widespread integration of digital instruments into financial services.

Addressing the delegates of the forum, the President urged to initiate substantial discussion and the search for constructive solutions in line with this practice. He emphasised that the sustainable development of these areas would build an additional potential for increasing the competitiveness of Kazakhstan.

Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev expressed belief that the meeting of financiers would contribute to designing effective approaches to further improving Kazakhstan’s financial sector.
