National population census completed in Kazakhstan

It was the first time census information in the Republic was collected electronically.

On November 10, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin held a government meeting on the issues related to the national population census that had been completed in the country, the press office of the Prime Minister reported.

Head of the Bureau of National Statistics Nurbolat Aydapkelov reported on the completion of the census. He informed that 60% of citizens of Kazakhstan had participated in in-person interviews. It was the first time digital technologies were used to collect census information in Kazakhstan. 40% of citizens posted their census information on the Internet resource.

25,000 volunteers and employees of the field and central offices of the Bureau of National Statistics were involved as census officers to collect census data. The preliminary results will be announced by the end of December after the closeout check is completed.

The Prime Minister noted the excellent organisation of the important all-republican marathon in a difficult epidemiological situation. Askar Mamin thanked all compatriots for their active participation in the event and the staff of the Bureau of National Statistics for their good work.
