On November 5, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon congratulated citizens of the country on the Constitution Day. He noted that since the adoption of this landmark document, the people of the country had been able to gain unprecedented achievements in all areas, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.
“Thanks to the implementation of the provisions of the Constitution, our society has gone through a very difficult historical period and today is moving steadily towards a brighter future,” Rahmon said.
He noted that the constitutional order had been restored in the country in a very short period. Peace, cohesion and political stability reigned in Tajikistan thanks to the timely measures taken, he added.
The leader of Tajikistan stressed that Tajikistan was one of the first countries in Central Asia to adopt the Basic Law through a popular referendum after the collapse of the USSR.
Rahmon also emphasised that the violation of the provisions of the Constitution had led to the tragic events in the country in the 1990s. He called on every citizen of Tajikistan to study, know, respect and abide by the Constitution.
