Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan show decent growth of trade cooperation

The topic was raised within the talks between the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan and the head of the Cabinet of Kyrgyzstan.

On November 5, the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Chary Gylyjov and the head of the government of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov met in Bishkek. The parties discussed issues of cooperation in trade, economy, energy, transport and investments. It was reported by the press office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Kyrgyz prime minister thanked the Turkmen side for participating in the «European Union — Central Asia» economic forum. According to the official, today Ashgabat is an important economic partner of Bishkek in the CA region.

The head of the government of the Kyrgyz Republic also announced the readiness of the country for wider cooperation with Turkmen investors, as well as for an increase in the volume of trade turnover. Gylyjov and Japarov expressed satisfaction with the current growth rates of trade collaboration between the states.

The emphasis was placed on the importance of supplies of Turkmen electricity and the prospects for exporting gas from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan. The agenda of the meeting also included the creation of a Turkmen-Kyrgyz fund for development and partnership in the logistics.
