30 companies represent Kazakhstan at import expo in Shanghai

The President noted that the import expo in Shanghai served as a “golden gate” to the huge Chinese market.

On November 5, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev sent a video message to the participants in the 4th China International Import Expo, which began its work in Shanghai, the press office of Akorda reported to CentralASia.news.

The President noted that the international import expo was a hub that brought together major exporters within its business space. The geography of the forum was represented by over 120 countries from all over the world, which vividly testified to the fact that the Shanghai expo served as a “golden gate” through which everyone could get to the huge Chinese market, the President emphasised.

The President said 30 major manufacturers from Kazakhstan would present their goods on this international platform. The Kazakh entities are expected to conclude contracts for the export of food and agricultural products for US$ 100 million.

Tokayev emphasised that trade is a key generator of prosperity and cooperation. In this context, the President cited the example of the Great Silk Road, which for centuries connected the continent with its life-giving routes and was revived through the Belt and Road Initiative.
