New rules for entering US and Azerbaijan for citizens of Uzbekistan

These countries set the new document requirements for citizens of Uzbekistan.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Azerbaijan have disseminated information on the new rules for entering these states, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported.

Since the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan has extended the quarantine regime until January 1, 2022, citizens of Uzbekistan travelling to Azerbaijan must have the following documents:

- a special permit issued by the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan. A request for this permit must be made no later than 14 days before travelling to Azerbaijan;

- a medical certificate on a negative PCR test result with a QR code, issued no earlier than 72 hours before travelling to Azerbaijan;

- a COVID passport: a COVID-19 vaccination certificate issued to citizens who have been fully vaccinated, or a COVID-19 immunity certificate issued to citizens who have recovered from coronavirus and have antibodies – the certificate must be obtained no later than 6 months before travelling to Azerbaijan.

A visa application to Azerbaijan does not guarantee a permit, and a permit does not guarantee entry into the lists at the border control.

From November 8, 2021, citizens of Uzbekistan travelling to the United States must provide the documents confirming that they have been fully vaccinated at the airport of departure. The list of vaccines approved in the United States can be found on the website of visit the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.

These restrictions do not apply to persons with an immigrant or diplomatic visa, as well as to children under 18 years of age.
