Emomali Rahmon put forward the initiative at his meeting with the new ambassadors of 10 states in Dushanbe.

On November 3, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the letters of credence from the new ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Belarus, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, UK, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Poland, Estonia and Bangladesh. When talking to the diplomats, Emomali Rahmon made a statement on Afghanistan, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reports.

The leader of Tajikistan offered Tajikistan’s extensive logistics capabilities to provide international assistance to Afghanistan. He noted that this country was experiencing the military and socio-economic crisis.

Rahmon emphasised that the territory of Afghanistan was a source of threats and challenges, and Tajikistan that was in the vanguard of resistance incurred a higher risk in such a situation.

Dwelling on the measures taken by the local authorities for a broader fight against terrorism, extremism and illegal trade in psychotropic substances, the President said Dushanbe was seeking to counteract all manifestations of transnational organized crime.
