Mirziyoyev considers housing and green zone development issues

The state will buy 1,000 apartments for low-income families and single women in the new Yangi Uzbekiston residential areas.

On November 2, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the issues related to the provision of citizens with housing and the development of green zones. The state will buy 1,000 apartments for low-income families and single women in the new Yangi Uzbekiston residential areas, for which 220 billion soums will be credited in advance to the organisations, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

Currently, the housing price per square metre is 4.5 million soums. The goal of maintaining this housing price in the new residential areas was set at the meeting. For this purpose, 1 trillion soums will be allocated annually from the state budget to build internal and external infrastructure in the new residential areas.

The decisions on the implementation of the Yashil Makon national project were also discussed. The project provides for planting 200 million shrubs and trees annually and expanding green zones in urban areas from 8 to 30%.

The existing and new green zones will be assigned to the responsible persons who will take care of trees and carry out landscaping activities. The landscaping departments will be provided with special equipment, and irrigation networks will be built, where needed. The deputy khokims in charge of construction will be responsible for environmental issues, planting and care of trees.
