Mejlis of Turkmenistan adopts state budget for 2022

A meeting of the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh (one of the chambers of parliament) was held in Ashgabat on October 30. The deputies unanimously approved and adopted the draft law on the state budget for the next year. According to the officials, the document is based on a competent calculations and is focused on improving the standard of living, as reported by «Turkmenistan Today».

The state budget is aimed at developing the economy, industrialization, expanding the volume of investments in the social sphere, improving mechanisms for managing labor resources, solving issues with the employment of Turkmen citizens.

A special place in the document is occupied by a program for expanding import substitution and creating an electronic industry. The emphasis will also be placed on the construction of industrial and socio-cultural facilities in the country.

The Law on the State Budget for 2022 aims to improve the living standards of each family. About 70% of the corresponding funds will be directed to the support and development of the social sphere. The size of salaries, pensions, allowances and student scholarships will be increased by 10%.

Within the framework of the program for the development of the national economy, measures will be taken to support business, continue the privatization of facilities and enterprises, and modernize the banking and tax systems.
