The First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majilis of Uzbekistan met with the Chairperson of the US-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce.
First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majilis Sodik Safoev held a meeting with Chairperson of the US-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm, who arrived shortly before in Uzbekistan as an international observer in the presidential elections, the press office of the Senate of the Oliy Majilis reported.
Carolyn Lamm noted the high level of organisation and conduct of the presidential elections, stressing that the 2021 election campaign and the elections were much more transparent and open compared to the previous ones, which she observed. Carolyn Lamm emphasised a high turnout among young voters.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the aspects of Uzbekistan-US cooperation in trade, economy and education. The Chairperson of the US-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce said the business and foreign policy reforms implemented in Uzbekistan in the past five years had significantly contributed to stirring interest in Uzbekistan among foreign business circles and boosted business confidence in the country.
