President of Kyrgyzstan criticizes regional administrations

Sadyr Japarov noted that the reforms did not reach the people in the regions, and many problems of citizens remained unresolved.

On October 21, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov spoke at a meeting with the heads of local self-government bodies and local state administrations. He was very dissatisfied with the work of these departments and their heads, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

Japarov noted that the country was going through difficult times. He found out during his work trips to the regions and his meetings with local people that the reforms did not reach the people in the regions, and many problems of citizens remained unresolved.

The President emphasised that the number of citizens’ petitions to the President’s Office had grown by almost 100% since 2020. The President’s Office received 5,800 petitions last year and 10,500 petitions this year.

Japarov stressed that the heads of regional administrations were indifferent to the problems of citizens and performed their daily duties poorly, providing empty reports.

The President noted that the form of government in the country has changed, but the methods of work had remained the same. He said it was impossible to move Kyrgyzstan forward without developing the regions.
