Tajikistan and Hungary enhance skills of diplomatic staff

The ministers of foreign affairs of the two countries signed a draft memorandum of understanding on cooperation in this field.

On October 20, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin had a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Szijjarto in Dushanbe. The parties signed a draft memorandum of understanding on advanced training of diplomatic staff, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reported.

The talks highlighted the importance of convening an intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation on October 15 this year. Muhriddin and Szijjarto noted the need to strengthen partnerships between the parliaments of the two countries.

The topics under discussion include the difficult situation in Afghanistan. According to officials, this country is on the brink of a humanitarian and migration crisis.

The ministers also specified the positions on water issues within the United Nations. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan said Dushanbe was committed to promoting a green economy.

The Republic of Tajikistan and Hungary established diplomatic relations on July 2, 1992.
