Turkmenistan and Russia hold economic forum

The participants of the event discussed Turkmen-Russian investment and production projects.

On October 20, the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation held the eighth joint economic forum. Within the framework of the event, the attention was paid to the Turkmen-Russian investment and production projects. A number of documents were signed. It was reported by «Turkmenistan Today».

The participants of the event discussed the prospects for interaction in the industrial, construction, textile, agricultural, logistics, tourism spheres, as well as in the field of digital technologies.

The forum was attended by officials, representatives of banking and financial structures, and employees of large companies. The Turkmen side noted that one of the priority vectors of the Central Asian country’s foreign policy is partnership with the regions and large industrial centers of Russia.

Businessmen from both countries demonstrated their export capabilities through presentations, as well as pointed out their import needs. Special attention was paid to the potential of the Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.

Part of the forum was dedicated to the use of the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi as a logistics hub in the Caspian region. The emphasis was also placed on the prospects for investment in shipbuilding.
