On October 19, in Ashgabat, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Vagit Alekperov, the head of PJSC Lukoil. The parties discussed issues of further cooperation with a focus on the fuel and energy complex. It was reported by the state news agency «Turkmenistan Today».
According to Alekperov, Russian businessmen, in particular the oil company Lukoil, are ready to take all necessary measures to develop mutually beneficial partnership with the Turkmen authorities.
Berdimuhamedov and the head of the company exchanged views on the radical modernization of the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan, diversification of routes for the export of relevant energy resources to the world market.
Special attention was paid to the development of hydrocarbon resources in the Caspian Sea. The President of Turkmenistan pointed out the importance of signing a memorandum between Ashgabat and Baku on joint exploration and development of the Dostluk field.
According to the head of the state, Turkmenistan focuses on the introduction of digital and environmentally friendly technologies in the oil and gas sector.
