Due to the increase in the supply of goods to foreign countries, thousand additional jobs will be created at the enterprise.
On October 12, the leader of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Merganteks enterprise in Alat district to learn about its activities during his visit to Bukhara. The enterprise intends to increase its exports of high-quality goods to US$ 30 million, which will create thousand additional jobs in the district, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.
The President was informed that to date, the company had turned into a large cluster with a complete production cycle from raw cotton processing to garment manufacturing. 880 employees work diligently at the enterprise. The enterprise is capable of processing 30,000 tonnes of cotton annually. In 2020, the company produced goods worth 240 billion soums and exported goods for more than US$6 million.
“These are the first results of large-scale work. However, this is not the limit. Now we need to develop the next stages of processing, introduce innovative technologies and seek to produce more value-added products,” the President of Uzbekistan emphasised.
