Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan sign 23 documents in all spheres

The documents in such spheres as transport, transit, justice, social protection, statistics, plant quarantine and protection, science and culture were signed.

On October 5, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during which 23 documents on multifaceted Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan cooperation in nearly all spheres were signed, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

The leaders of the two states adopted a Joint Statement on the outcomes of the top-level talks that had identified the prospects for further strengthening Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan strategic partnerships.

The heads of ministries, departments and regions of the two countries exchanged official documents. The parties signed the Agreement on the creation and regulation of activities of the Uzbek-Turkmen border trade zone providing for the opening of a trade centre on the adjacent territories, the Agreement on the increase in trade flows and expansion of mutually beneficial partnerships among enterprises and companies and the Protocol on the exchange of preliminary information on goods and vehicles moved across the customs border.

The important documents aimed at promoting bilateral relations in such spheres as transport, transit, justice, social protection, statistics, plant quarantine and protection, science and culture were signed.
