The President of Turkmenistan was informed that a big work to ensure peace at the borders of the country had been done.
On October 4, at a meeting of the State Security Council, Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov heard a report from the chairman of the State Border Service, Yazgeldi Nuryyev. The official noted that the situation at the border is absolutely safe, as reported by «Turkmenistan Today».
The head of the department stressed that in January-September, the border service made every effort to ensure peace on the «sacred borders of the homeland».
The official paid attention to the work on the modernization of the material and technical base, improvement of the conditions for living and service of the Turkmen border guards.
Berdimuhamedov recalled that the state border of Turkmenistan has the status of the border of friendship and brotherhood. He directed to pay more attention to improving the professional skills of military personnel.
It must be added that Turkmenistan borders with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Afghanistan. Earlier, the Turkmen leader announced that Ashgabat is ready to cooperate with the new Afghan government.
