Kazakbaev met with the daughter of a famous sculptor during his official visit to Budapest.
On October 3, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev arrived in Hungary for an official visit. During his official trip to Budapest, the Minister of Foreign Affairs met with the daughter of a famous sculptor Laszlo Meszaros, who emigrated to Kyrgyzstan in 1935. Marta Meszaros’s sons were also present at the meeting, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.
During the meeting, she spoke about her desire to visit Kyrgyzstan again and requested that Kazakbaev help her find documents about the life of her father, who was detained by the NKVD and was shot. She also asked for assistance in keeping her father’s memory alive for the younger generations of the people of Hungary and Kyrgyzstan.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed readiness to help the sculptor’s daughter find information about her father. Upon returning to Bishkek, he would send a request to the relevant authorities to search for archival information about the reasons for the detention of her father.
Kazakbaev will also address President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov and suggest keeping Laszlo Meszaros’s memory alive.
