Minister speaks about Dushanbe’s achievements in foreign policy and diplomacy

Mukhriddin noted that Tajikistan attached particular importance to promoting relations with the neighbouring countries in Central Asia.

On September 29, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin spoke about Tajikistan’s achievements in foreign policy and diplomacy over the years of state independence in an interview with Jumhuriyat Newspaper, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reported.

The Foreign Minister noted that the main features of Tajikistan’s foreign policy included the open door policy, and the country was implementing it consistently.

Over the years of independence, Tajikistan had established diplomatic relations based on the international principles of equality and mutual respect with the United States, CIS states and countries in Europe, Asia and Africa, the Minister said.

From the first days of the presidency of Emomali Rahmon, close and friendly relations have been established with all countries of the world, particularly with the Central Asian states.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs reminded that the first Badge of Honour of Heads of State of Central Asia was awarded by a joint decision of the presidents to the leader of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon at the Central Asian summit in Turkmenistan, which testified to the respect of his foreign counterparts.
