On September 22, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the progress of construction at the Jaloliddin Manguberdy complex in Urgench. The project was discussed during the previous visit of the leader of Uzbekistan to the region and finalized in accordance with the opinions and recommendations of experts, the press office of the President reported to CentralAsia.news.

The President of Uzbekistan was informed that the new building would cover an area of about 8 hectares at the intersection of Al-Khorezmi and Islam Karimov avenues. The foundation of the building is being laid. A bronze monument featuring a commander Jaloliddin Manguberdi sitting on a horse and holding a sword was created. The monument will reach a height of about 25 metres.

“This place should serve as a centre of knowledge, spirituality and pride in the country. It is essential to ensure that visitors can walk and recreate, as well as get a clear idea and be inspired by the life and work of Manguberdy. Information about his battles and brave deeds can be placed along the alley. Guides with a good knowledge of history and foreign languages needed to be trained, the President of Uzbekistan emphasised.

After the completion of construction work, the territory of the complex will be landscaped: various decorative trees, flowers and other plants will be planted and fountains will be built. It is planned to lay pedestrian paths and cycle tracks and provide tourist services.
