Uzbekistan attends carbon neutrality workshop

Partnerships for introducing advanced technologies at industrial enterprises to reduce carbon emissions was discussed.

First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov attended the workshop “Japan’s energy policy towards carbon neutrality” via videoconference, which was organised jointly with the diplomatic mission of Japan in Uzbekistan. The online event focused on the interaction on the use of advanced technologies at production facilities to reduce carbon emissions, the press office of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade reported.

Honorary Professor at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies H. Nei presented a report on “Reform of Japan’s Energy Industry” at the workshop.

It was emphasised that Japan intended to be one of the first countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net-zero by 2050 and create an eco-friendly space and society.

In conclusion, the participants in the online meeting agreed that Professor H. Ney would visit Uzbekistan for further consideration of the urgent issue of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere.
