The leaders of the two states agreed to intensify the activities of the Commission to support growing trade and economic relations and find new ‘points of growth’.

On September 16, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi during his official visit to Tajikistan. The leaders of the two countries agreed to resume the work of the Intergovernmental Commission to support the dynamic development of trade and economic relations and find new ‘points of growth’, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The sides emphasised with satisfaction that the indicators of mutual trade had been growing steadily since the beginning of the year. Business projects are implemented successfully in such promising areas as agriculture, poultry and fish farming and food industry, among others.

The interlocutors also emphasised that the relevant departments would study thoroughly the possibilities of further strengthening industrial cooperation on the roadmap principles, as well as the prospects for using effectively the transit potential of the two states.
