Tokayev approves ‘green’ energy investment project

The President noted that priority the development of renewable energy sources was given high priority in Kazakhstan.

On September 13, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a meeting with CEO of Svevind Group Wolfgang Kropp. The businessman presented the promising ‘green’ energy investment projects, the press office of the President reported.

In particular, the project of wind and solar power stations in Mangistau region was presented for consideration. In accordance with the engineering concept, the facility will use resources to produce ‘green’ hydrogen. The possibility of localizing the production of wind generators and solar collectors is under consideration.

Commenting on the project, the President emphasised that the Republic attached priority importance to the shift to renewable energy sources and the reduction of carbon dependency in the national economy, noting that special attention should be paid to promoting hydrogen energy.

The leader of Kazakhstan positively evaluated the company’s investment proposals and assured that the state would support the modern project.
