Military parade in Dushanbe to honour 30th anniversary of independence

30,000 law enforcement officers participate in the solemn event. The total number of parade participants exceeded 162,000.

On September 7, the military parade, involving 30,000 law enforcement officers, took place in the capital of Tajikistan to honour the major event – the 30th anniversary of state independence. In his speech, President Emomali Rahmon evaluated the role of the military in restoring the Constitution, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.

The main parade of the Republic took place on the Dusti Square. Upon the arrival of the President at the venue, the military band performed the Melody of Pride. The State Flag was brought to the Square.

The leader of Tajikistan addressed a congratulatory speech to the parade participants. He noted that citizens celebrated not only the 30th anniversary of independence, but also the anniversary of freedom of their homeland on September 7. He recalled the hardships of the civil war and the role of local law enforcement officers in ensuring political stability. The President expressed belief that military servants of Tajikistan would continue to perform their knightly mission to the nation.

The national anthem was performed, and 30 volleys of 30 cannons were fired. The ceremonial procession involving 30,000 law enforcement officers began to the music of the orchestra.

This year’s parade differs in scale. In the previous years, the parade involved from 5,000 to 15,000 military servants, law enforcement officers and officials. The total number of law enforcement officers who participated in the ceremonial procession in the capital, administrative centres of the regions, cities and districts exceeded 162,000.

The parade involved special military equipment and armoured vehicles, which were used by military units and reserve formations.
