On August 30, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbayev received copies of letters of credence from newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland Olivier Bangerter. Kazakbayev sincerely congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to the post and wished him every success in his future activities, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The interlocutors noted with satisfaction the high level of Kyrgyzstan-Switzerland relations and exchanged views on the prospects for promoting bilateral cooperation.
They confirmed their readiness to continue to build up cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed profound gratitude to the Swiss side for providing economic and technical support, in particular in the fight against coronavirus.
The officials discussed the issues related to the upcoming bilateral events, including the celebration of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the countries in 2022.
