The President presented the orders, prize money and cars to the Olympic medallists.
On August 23, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov presented the state awards to the Olympic medallists, athletes and coaches. The event took place at the Ala-Archa state residence. It was noted that these Olympic Games were the most successful in the history of the country. The Kyrgyz athletes won three medals, including two silver medals, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The largest prizes were awarded to the winners: Aisuluu Tynybekova and Akzhol Makhmudov (silver medallists) received 10 million soms each, a bronze medallist Meerim Zhumanazarova – 7 million soms and the head coach of the national women’s wrestling team Nurbek Izabekov – 8.15 million soms.
The athletes and other members of the national team also received the orders, medals, cars and certificates of honour.
In his speech, the President thanked the Olympic athletes for their high achievements and called on them to win gold medals at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
