The meeting agenda covered the issues related to substantial support and encouragement of entrepreneurial activities in the Republic, including subsidies and lending to businesses.

On August 18, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov chaired a meeting of the Government Commission on the issues related to foreign trade, investment, promotion of domestic production and technical regulation. The agenda focused on substantial support and encouragement of entrepreneurial activities in the Republic, including subsidies and lending to businesses, the press office of the Ministry reports.

20 businessmen, whose company had incurred losses due to fluctuating foreign currency rates during the liberalization period, attended the meeting.

The members of the Commission discussed in detail each case. They took concrete decisions on each case, appointed the responsible persons, including the heads of commercial banks, and set the deadlines for implementation of the decisions.

With the aim to revive business activities, it was decided to appoint curators from among the Ministry officials for each businessman for a one-year period. These officials will be responsible for supporting business activities and providing assistance to these businesses in resolving emerging issues.
