President of Kazakhstan meets with top managers of major Korean companies

Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev was interested in smart city systems and green technology innovations.

On March 17, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held talks with the top managers of the largest companies Samsung Electronics Lee Jae-yong and Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Yong Jin Song during his state visit to the Republic of Korea, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

When talking to the President of Samsung Electronics, Tokayev noted that the company was recognized worldwide as a leader in digital technologies and innovations. The leader of Kazakhstan informed about the prospects of cooperation in introducing smart cities technologies. Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev emphasised that Kazakhstan was interested in traffic management technologies and systems for preventing road accidents and remote data transmission.

When talking to the top manager of Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, Tokayev thanked his counterpart for the company’s contribution to the national economic growth and focused on the technological advances of the Korean company in green energy.

In this context, Tokayev underlined the company’s long-term experience and productivity in the energy sector. He offered Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction to cooperate in technical re-equipment of the thermal power plants in Kazakhstan and the comprehensive development of the Karabatan network. The South Korean businessman confirmed the willingness of his company to implement joint projects.
