Authorities of Kazakhstan intend to promote sports

The controls over the effectiveness of budgetary and extra-budgetary investments will be tightened.

On August 12, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Yeraly Tugzhanov convened a special council on the instructions of the President of Kazakhstan to consider the issues related to the further development of professional, mass and children’s sports, the press office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

The Deputy Prime Minister set a number of tasks to the government agencies to provide   adults and children with the opportunity to play sports. The regional administrations were to expand a network of free sports clubs, open new children’s and youth clubs and revive the school and student leagues.

The local authorities were tasked to build and put into operation 43 sports centres by the end of the year and significantly expand a network of training grounds and small sports facilities.

The emphasis was placed on the need to effectively implement the Nur Otan Party Roadmap aimed at gradually raising the salaries of sports teachers, revise the basic training methods of professional athletes, including national teams, and tighten controls over the effective use of budgetary and non-budgetary funds.

It was noted that the state would take the development of the general sports movement under special control.
