Tokayev will attend the unveiling ceremony of a monument to Abai during his visit to the capital of South Korea.

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev will pay a state visit to the Republic of Korea early next week, on August 16-17, Press Secretary of the President of Kazakhstan Berik Vali wrote on his Facebook page.

The leader of Kazakhstan received a personal invitation to visit South Korea from President Moon Jae-in. The major part of the visit will be a political dialogue between the leaders of the two countries.

The report says a number of promising projects aimed at promoting strategic cooperation will be discussed during the talks. Following the meeting, the parties are expected to adopt a Joint Statement and sign intergovernmental documents.

Tokayev will meet with top managers of major companies and prominent politicians in the Republic of Korea. The parties expect the upcoming visit to ‘revive’ a number of commercial agreements aimed at implementing large-scale investment projects.

The Press Secretary noted that the leader of Kazakhstan would unveil a monument to Abai Kunanbaiuly in the centre of Seoul.
