Kyrgyz authorities grant loans to affected businesses in Batken

On August 9, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Ulukbek Maripov signed the Resolution approving the procedure for compensation for damages caused to business entities in Batken region by the conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The affected businesses in Batken will receive 14.505 million soms in lump sum compensation as state support, as well as in accordance with the Decree of President Sadyr Japarov “On priority measures for the restoration and development of border villages in Batken Region”.

The Resolution advises that Aiyl Bank and RSK Bank write off loans received by the affected businesses in Batken region before April 28, 2021.

As was reported, an armed conflict took place on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on April 28-30. 154 people were injured and 36 were killed, including tw2o children, from the Kyrgyz side. The authorities of Tajikistan officially stated that 19 people were killed and 87 people were injured.
